My name is Maria and I'm Swedish. I met my English husband, Mike, 11 years ago when he was in Sweden on holiday.
For the first few years of our relationship I lived in Stockholm and Mike here in Bournemouth. It was not easy but somehow we made it work.
After 3 years we had had enough and we decided that I should come and live with him in Bournemouth.
I opened a Scandinavian design shop that I enjoyed running up until 2 years ago when we had our first child Fredrik. I then decided that I would like to spend as much time with Fred as possible and became a stay-home-mum.
It has been 2 fantastic years at home with Fred, seeing him grow to be a happy and lively toddler.
Me and Mike have always spent time in Sweden with my family, but sins Fred came along we have been spending more and more time there.
Last year we took over my childhood home from my parents and we are now spending about 6 months in Sweden and 6 months in England.
Through the years I have lived here in England I have met loads people that live similar life to ours, dividing there time between two country's, mixing traditions, way of thinking and cuisines.
I thought that it would be a good idea to share my experience.
So, here it is my blog about Anglo-Swedish living.
